Salman Ali Agha, captain of the Pakistan T20 international side, has called for a more “ruthless” approach during the power-play overs after his team scraped past Zimbabwe national cricket team by five wickets in their opening match of the tri-series in Rawalpindi.
He pointed out that the Pakistani side got off to a shaky start as Zimbabwe’s openers racked up 59 without loss in the power-play — their second-highest score in that phase against Pakistan.
Agha praised his spinners for pulling Pakistan back into the match, emphasising that moving forward, the team must make stronger starts whether batting or bowling. “In the power-play, we need to be ruthless. That’s what I’m going to talk about,” he said.
