The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed Mike Hesson as Pakistan coach for the white-ball formats. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the appointment on social media platform X, stating that Mike Hesson brings valuable international coaching experience and will begin his role starting May 26.

The decision to appoint Mike Hesson Pakistan coach comes ahead of the upcoming five-match T20I series against Bangladesh, making it a strategic move to boost Pakistan’s white-ball performance.

Alongside Hesson, the PCB has also named former pacer Aqib Javed as Director of High Performance. Naqvi highlighted that both appointments are part of PCB’s broader plan to strengthen the national cricket structure.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik has stepped down from his role as mentor for domestic teams, citing personal and professional commitments. He thanked the PCB and emphasized that he would fulfill all contractual obligations before transitioning out.
