Despite claims from former heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne that the upcoming fight between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul had been cancelled — supposedly due to an injury Paul suffered while sparring with Lawrence Okolie the bout remains on schedule for December 19, 2025, in Miami.
Stiverne recanted his prior statement, admitting he only “heard somewhere” about the cancellation and did not have confirmation. Meanwhile, Paul’s cryptic social-media “major update” turned out to be unrelated to the fight’s status; it announced a separate signing instead.
Organizers have reaffirmed that the match will proceed as a fully sanctioned eight-round event, with 10-ounce gloves and a 245-lb weight limit for Joshua.
