Why Are Fuel Prices Changing?

Pakistan has adopted a daily fuel-pricing mechanism under which OGRA calculates prices using a rolling seven-day average of international petroleum prices. The system is intended to reflect global market movements more quickly.

Changes in international oil prices, import costs and other pricing components can affect domestic petrol and diesel rates. The latest adjustment lowers petrol costs but raises diesel prices, creating different effects for motorists and the transport sector.
