Train operations across Balochistan have been temporarily suspended following a security alert, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The precautionary measure was taken after intelligence agencies warned of potential threats to railway infrastructure and passenger safety in parts of the province.
According to authorities, the suspension affects both passenger and freight services, with trains either halted at originating stations or stopped en route as a safety measure. Law enforcement agencies and security forces have been placed on high alert, while Pakistan Railways is coordinating closely with provincial and federal security officials.
Officials said the decision was taken to avoid any risk to human lives, adding that rail services will resume only after a full security clearance is issued. Passengers have been advised to stay in contact with Pakistan Railways helplines and official channels for updates regarding rescheduling and refunds.
Balochistan has previously witnessed disruptions to transport services due to security concerns, and authorities reiterated their commitment to restoring normal operations once the situation stabilises.
