Karachi, October 11, 2026: A suspected robber was killed during a police encounter in Karachi’s Ajmer Nagri area, while four people, including a woman, sustained injuries in separate stray-bullet incidents across the city.

According to local media reports, the incidents occurred in different parts of Karachi, raising concerns about public safety and gunfire in residential areas.

Suspected Robber Killed in Ajmer Nagri Encounter

Police identified the deceased suspect as Saleemur Rehman, son of Javedur Rehman.

According to police, the suspect was killed during an encounter in Ajmer Nagri, while his alleged accomplice managed to escape.

Authorities reported recovering a .30-bore pistol, four mobile phones, a wallet and cash from the deceased suspect. Further details about the circumstances of the encounter were not immediately available.

Four People Injured in Separate Stray-Bullet Incidents

In separate incidents, four people, including a woman, were injured by stray bullets in Orangi Town, Lyari and North Karachi.

The incidents highlight the risks posed by gunfire in densely populated neighbourhoods, where stray bullets can injure people who are not involved in any confrontation.

The report did not provide further details about the victims’ conditions or identify those responsible for the gunfire.

One Killed in Super Highway Traffic Accident

In another incident, a road accident near the Byco petrol pump on Karachi’s Super Highway left one person dead and another injured.

The injured individual was identified as 35-year-old Sohrab.

Both victims were transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The cause of the accident was not immediately disclosed.

Fire Breaks Out at Dadabhai Plaza on Shahrah-e-Faisal

Meanwhile, a fire erupted at Dadabhai Plaza on Shahrah-e-Faisal, prompting an emergency response from Rescue 1122.

Rescue teams managed to extinguish the flames, preventing the fire from spreading further. Cooling operations continued after the blaze was brought under control.

No casualties were reported, although the cause of the fire and the extent of property damage were not immediately confirmed.
