KARACHI, September 30, 2026 — Sindh has reported 117,016 malaria cases during the first nine months of 2026, according to data released by the Sindh Health Department. More than 1.9 million people were screened for malaria across the province between January 1 and September 29.
Hyderabad Reports Highest Number of Cases
Hyderabad Division recorded the highest number of malaria cases during the period, with 46,183 infections detected after 626,282 people were screened.
Larkana Division followed with 33,785 cases, while Shaheed Benazirabad reported 13,005 cases. Sukkur recorded 12,058 cases and Mirpurkhas reported 10,898.
Karachi Reports 1,087 Malaria Cases
Karachi Division recorded 1,087 malaria cases after 55,654 people underwent screening between January 1 and September 29.
The number was considerably lower than the totals reported in Hyderabad and Larkana divisions, based on the provincial health data.
No Malaria Deaths Reported
The Sindh Health Department data showed that no deaths from malaria were reported during the period under review.
Officials also reported that there were no hospitalized cases of cerebral malaria across the province during the same period.

Health Department Continues Surveillance
Authorities said malaria screening, prevention, and surveillance activities are continuing across Sindh.
The provincial health data is based on people screened during the nine-month period, with officials continuing monitoring efforts across the province.
