The Sindh Home Department has clarified that no official high-level security alert has been issued for Karachi. A notification claiming to declare the city on heightened alert from 12 to 30 November 2025, and listing busy spots like Dolmen Mall, Empress Market and Jinnah International Airport as high-risk was circulated via WhatsApp, but the department says it bears no official reference number and is entirely fake. The statement urged citizens and media to only trust alerts issued via the department’s authorised channels.
