The Sindh government has announced the completion and progress of three major infrastructure projects worth over $740 million in partnership with Kuwait’s EnerTech Holding Company, highlighting a significant expansion of public-private collaboration in the province. The announcement was made by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah at a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi on Tuesday.
The first project, the Nabisar-Vajihar Water Supply Scheme valued at approximately $215 million, is designed to provide a sustainable water supply for Thar coal-based power plants, directly supporting a generation capacity of 1,650 megawatts and reducing electricity costs.
The second initiative is the NED Science and Technology Park, Pakistan’s first university-led technology park developed under a public-private partnership model, with an estimated cost of $125 million. Located at NED University of Engineering and Technology, it aims to foster research, innovation, industry-academia collaboration and high-value employment opportunities.
The third project is the TP-IV Wastewater Treatment Project in Karachi, a roughly $400 million effort to address long-standing wastewater management challenges and supply treated, industrial-grade water to local industries, while improving environmental compliance.
Chief Minister Shah emphasised that these milestones reflect Sindh’s commitment to infrastructure development, energy security, innovation and environmental sustainability through strategic public-private partnerships. Leaders from government departments, EnerTech executives and other stakeholders attended the event.
