Sindh Allows Any Warm Clothing for Students — Private Schools Warned Against Strict Winter Uniforms

Sindh private schools winter clothing guidelines 2025

The provincial Sindh Directorate of Private Institutions has issued a new directive for all private schools in Sindh, instructing them not to enforce fixed winter-uniform rules.

Under the directive, students are allowed to wear any warm clothing — jackets, sweaters, coats, hats, socks, or other winter garments — of any colour or design. Schools may no longer demand that winter jackets match a specific uniform style.

The decision aims to prioritize student safety and comfort during the colder months, and to relieve families of the burden of buying expensive, school-specific winter uniforms.

School administrations have been directed to implement the guidance immediately, and the authorities have warned of action against any schools that attempt to impose restrictive dress codes.
