Senator Mushtaq Ahmad has been confirmed safe and in good spirits following his participation in the Global Sumud Flotilla, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said on Tuesday. Dar stated that he had spoken to Senator Mushtaq Ahmad through Pakistan’s Ambassador in Amman, who verified the senator’s well-being.
“Senator Mushtaq Ahmad is fine and in high spirits,” Ishaq Dar shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He praised the senator’s courage and unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, acknowledging his role in the flotilla aimed at breaking the siege of Gaza and delivering humanitarian aid.
Dar added that Senator Mushtaq Ahmad had conveyed his gratitude to the Pakistan Foreign Office for its consistent communication and support during his stay in Amman. The senator appreciated the embassy’s facilitation and thanked the government for reaching out to him in Tel Aviv through a friendly European country’s diplomatic mission.
The Deputy Prime Minister further confirmed that the Foreign Office has completed all necessary arrangements for Senator Mushtaq Ahmad’s return to Pakistan on October 9. Dar reiterated the government’s appreciation for his dedication to the Palestinian cause and expressed relief over his safe condition following the challenging humanitarian mission.
