Reducing electricity tariffs is the government’s Eid gift: Tarar

Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, stated on Saturday that the government’s reduction in energy tariffs on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr is a unique present to customers.

Speaking to a private TV station, the minister stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s first goal was to reduce inflation.

He stated that the electricity rate in April decreased by 3.82 rupees per unit as compared to the previous month.

The information minister stated that the present government spared the country from default, and that the exchange rate and rupee value had stabilized as a result of its wise actions.

He stated that Bloomberg magazine had also reported that inflation in Pakistan had reduced by 2%, and that it was expected to fall much lower next year.
