The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has temporarily suspended its mobile-phone registration service — a system used to register devices under the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS).
The regulatory authority will carry out scheduled system maintenance during the suspension, affecting users’ ability to register new devices or check existing registrations for the time being.
PTA reminded consumers that using unregistered mobile devices remains unlawful and that the suspension is temporary; it encouraged them to complete registration once the service resumes to avoid future service disruptions or penalties.
