PIA Confirms A320 Fleet Safe Despite Global Software Glitch

PIA A320 safety software glitch

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has assured the public that its A-320 fleet remains safe, despite a global software glitch affecting the Airbus A320 family.

According to an airline spokesman, PIA’s maintenance teams are up to date with required checks and no risk is posed to flights operated under its A-320 fleet.

Globally, the glitch prompted a safety recall by Airbus, directing airlines to install a software update on more than 6,000 A320-family jets to prevent potential flight-control issues.

Airlines worldwide scrambled to manage the update — some grounded aircraft temporarily — but many completed the fix within hours, resuming normal operations.

PIA’s statement aims to reassure passengers that their travel should remain unaffected, and that safety remains the top priority while global carriers carry out the necessary software revisions.
