Pakistan is weighing its response after investigators found links to Afghanistan in this week’s deadly suicide bombings. While the country’s leaders have not yet confirmed any cross-border military plans, the Defence Minister has warned that “strikes inside Afghanistan cannot be ruled out.”
At the same time, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has offered renewed peace talks with the Taliban-led government in Kabul, calling for a joint crackdown on militants operating from Afghan soil.
The Foreign Office, meanwhile, accused the Taliban regime of ignoring its commitments during recent Istanbul-led negotiations and demanded verifiable action against terror groups.
