Citizen Carrying Rs130 Million Targeted
According to police, the victim was travelling on a motorcycle while carrying the cash when armed suspects intercepted him near NIPA Bridge.
The robbers allegedly opened fire, injuring the citizen, before taking the money and fleeing the area. The injured victim later reached a hospital, where he informed authorities about the robbery.
Police Investigate Exact Location
Police officials said the incident took place within the jurisdiction of either Gulshan or Aziz Bhatti police stations. Teams from both police stations were dispatched to the scene as officers worked to determine the exact location and circumstances of the robbery.
Investigators are collecting available evidence from the area and examining possible escape routes used by the suspects.
IG Sindh Takes Notice
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho took notice of the incident and sought reports from the Additional Inspector General Karachi and DIG East.
He directed police officials to take immediate steps to identify and arrest those involved in the robbery.
CCTV and Technical Evidence Being Examined
The IG instructed investigators to use CCTV footage, technical evidence and other available resources to trace the suspects.
Senior police officers have also been directed to closely monitor the investigation until the suspects are arrested. Odho warned that negligence or unnecessary delays in the case would not be tolerated.

The latest incident comes amid several high-value robbery cases in Karachi. Earlier this week, armed suspects reportedly stole Rs62 million from two petrol pump employees in Korangi and Rs7.8 million from private-company employees on Tariq Road.
