The Sindh government has announced a new women-only Pink Bus route in Karachi, set to begin on 17 November 2025.
The new route will run from Abdullah Chowk to Numaish, and will operate at three dedicated time slots: 8:00–9:00 AM, 1:00–2:00 PM, and 5:00–7:00 PM.
Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the service is exclusively for women, with a strong focus on safety and comfort. The buses will be equipped with security systems, GPS tracking, and staffed by trained personnel.
The initiative aims to ease the commuting challenges faced by women in a sprawling city like Karachi, helping them access education, work, and other activities more freely.
This is part of a broader plan: the Sindh government intends to expand the Pink Bus network further to cover more areas.
Fare for the Pink Bus is Rs 50, and girls under five years old can travel for free.
