K‑Electric (KE) has intensified its campaign against electricity theft in Karachi — in a recent round of enforcement, its teams removed 1,100 kg of illegal connections and wiring from across multiple high-loss feeders. The crackdown comes as part of KE’s broader efforts to dismantle illegal “kunda” networks, curb electricity theft, and improve power-supply reliability in the city.
Officials say the drive targeted dozens of unauthorized hookups that bypass meters and safety protocols, which overburden the grid and contribute to load-shedding. KE emphasised the operation aims to protect legitimate consumers, reduce system losses, and restore stability to power distribution.
