Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has demanded strict accountability from Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, alleging mismanagement and misuse of billions of rupees in public funds allocated for city development. Addressing a press conference, JI leaders claimed that despite massive budgetary allocations, Karachi continues to suffer from poor infrastructure, broken roads, sanitation issues and water shortages.
The party accused the city administration of failing to deliver tangible improvements and called for a transparent audit of municipal spending. JI also warned that if accountability measures are not initiated, it will intensify public pressure through protests and legal avenues. The demand comes amid growing public frustration over Karachi’s deteriorating civic conditions and questions over governance at the local level.
