IESCO Announces Power Shutdown in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a temporary power suspension schedule for several areas to facilitate ongoing development projects, including road widening, flyovers, underpasses and installation of new 11kV feeders.

Power Shutdown Schedule

According to IESCO, electricity supply will remain suspended in selected areas on Friday, October 9, 2026.

In Islamabad City Circle, power will be unavailable from 7am to 12pm on the Service Road, Sohan, Highway, Zia Masjid and Iqbal Town feeders.

In Rawalpindi City Circle, the Fazaia feeder will face an interruption from 7am to 12pm. In Attock Circle, the Colonel Sher Khan feeder will remain without electricity from 7am to 2pm.

Development Work Behind Shutdowns

IESCO said the temporary shutdowns are necessary to support development work being carried out by district administrations.

The projects include the construction of flyovers and underpasses, road widening, installation of new 11kV feeders and shifting of electricity poles and other power infrastructure.

IESCO said the schedule is temporary and intended to allow development activities to be completed safely and on time.

The power company apologised to consumers for the temporary disruption and advised them to check its official platforms for updated shutdown schedules.
