Police have identified a father-son duo as the main suspects in the recent triple murder of three women in Karachi’s Gulshan‑e‑Iqbal area.
The victims — a mother, her daughter, and daughter-in-law — were discovered dead under suspicious circumstances in their flat. Authorities say the victims, along with the suspects, owed over Rs 10 million; a police complaint had been filed earlier over a Rs 7.5 million debt.
According to investigators, the suspect son, identified as Yaseen, allegedly poisoned the victims by mixing a toxic substance into juice. His father, named Iqbal, is also accused of complicity. Reportedly the suspects had planned to drink the poisoned juice themselves, but Iqbal refrained after witnessing his son’s condition.
Police recovered a torn letter from the residence’s garbage bin — considered a critical piece of evidence — and another letter was found on Iqbal, purportedly containing contact information for someone to call in case of his death.
Both suspects remain in custody as investigators continue to probe the motive and collect forensic evidence. The case remains under active investigation.
