Faisal Mumtaz Rathore Elected as AJK Prime Minister After No-Confidence Vote

Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has been elected as the new Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) after a successful no-confidence motion against incumbent PM Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.

The motion was backed by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and supported by PML-N lawmakers.
Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar convened a special session of the AJK Legislative Assembly on Nov 17 for the vote, following the submission of the no-trust resolution.

Rathore, the PPP’s regional general secretary, is the son of former AJK PM Mumtaz Rathore and has held various ministerial roles in the region.
