Electricity prices in Pakistan are projected to fall by about Rs 0.65 per unit for October’s billing cycle, following a petition by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). The request comes after a previous reduction of Rs 0.48 per unit in September.
If approved at the hearing scheduled for 27 November, the decrease will be applied nationwide, including in major cities such as Karachi.
The adjustment reflects lower fuel-cost pressures on power generation and is intended to provide relief to electricity consumers amid challenging economic conditions.
