LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has praised security forces for killing 13 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan, describing the action as an important step in the fight against terrorism.
13 Terrorists Killed in North Waziristan
Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation after tracking the movement of militant elements in North Waziristan and adjoining areas.
According to security sources, the operation targeted hideouts associated with Fitna al-Khawarij, resulting in the deaths of 13 terrorists. The action was carried out under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam framework.
Maryam Nawaz Praises Security Personnel
CM Maryam Nawaz commended the security forces for their successful operation and paid tribute to personnel involved in the action.
She said the sacrifices and efforts of security personnel were important in countering terrorist threats and maintaining peace in the country.
Security Forces Maintain Surveillance
Security sources said the operation followed continuous surveillance of militant movements in the area. Forces targeted suspected hideouts after gathering intelligence about the presence and activities of the terrorists.
The operation is part of continuing security efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where militant activity has remained a major security challenge.
Search and Clearance Operations Continue
Following the operation, security forces continued search and clearance activities in the surrounding areas to locate any remaining militants.

Five More Terrorists Killed in Mastung
In a separate operation in Mastung, Balochistan, security forces killed five more terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were reportedly recovered during the operation.
Together, the two operations resulted in 18 terrorists being killed in North Waziristan and Mastung, according to security sources.
