The widow of martyred Sindh Police officer Chaudhry Aslam has announced she will produce a new film to portray her late husband’s life and sacrifices, aiming to present his true legacy and counter what she describes as misleading depictions in other media. The project comes amid widespread attention on the Bollywood film Dhurandhar, which features a character inspired by Aslam but has drawn criticism from his family for its portrayal.
Aslam, known as a fearless officer who fought against terrorism and organised crime in Karachi, was killed in a targeted bomb attack in 2014 while combating militants. His widow says the forthcoming film will honour his service and highlight his role beyond a single neighbourhood or event.
