Arif Habib Says Only Performing Employees Will Stay in PIA

Arif Habib PIA performance retention

Renowned businessman Arif Habib, whose consortium recently acquired a 75 percent controlling stake in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), stated that employee retention at the national carrier will be tied to performance as part of efforts to make the airline profitable. Habib told reporters in Karachi that while staff will be provided job security, only those who deliver results will continue in their roles. He stressed that enhancing PIA’s operational performance and financial health is a top priority under the new ownership structure. Habib also noted the historic contribution of the airline’s workforce and reaffirmed that the airline’s name will remain unchanged under the acquisition agreement. His remarks come amid broader discussions on privatisation and the future restructuring of Pakistan’s flag carrier.
