Fifty-five students from District Chagai have been awarded fully funded scholarships to attend the Foundation Programme at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur. The scholarship programme is being supported by Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) to help intermediate students strengthen their academic skills and prepare for university admissions.
RDMC Celebrates Scholarship Recipients
The scholarship recipients were recognised at an award ceremony held at the Reko Diq project site. Students, parents, community representatives and RDMC officials attended the event.
The 55 students form the second cohort of the RDMC Scholarship Programme, which focuses on developing the academic abilities of young people from District Chagai and preparing them for admission to universities across Pakistan.
Ryan Mitchell, General Manager of the Reko Diq Project, congratulated the students and encouraged them to make full use of the educational opportunity. He also acknowledged the contribution of the IBA Sukkur team and RDMC’s sustainability team in delivering the Foundation Programme for a second consecutive year.
Previous Scholarship Students Secure University Admissions
RDMC Sustainability Manager Stephen Herb highlighted the role of education in strengthening communities. He also pointed to the results of the programme’s first cohort.
According to RDMC, 42 students from the 2025 cohort have secured admission to universities across Pakistan, marking an important outcome of the Foundation Programme.
Hanno Staden, RDMC’s Head of Human Resources, encouraged the new scholarship recipients to take responsibility for their future and make the most of the opportunity.

Six-Month Foundation Programme Begins
The 55 students received their scholarship certificates and will now begin a six-month Foundation Programme at IBA Sukkur. The programme is designed to strengthen their academic preparation before they pursue higher education.
RDMC said education remains a key part of its sustainability strategy, with the scholarship programme focused on creating educational opportunities for young people in Chagai and supporting their future academic goals.
