Security forces discovered one of the greatest terrorist networks of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the port city, while intelligence services apprehended 17 militants from Karachi.

A considerable number of security personnel and law enforcement organizations participated in the challenging task, which resulted in the effective arrest of top terrorist commanders.

TTP militants planned to carry out ‘terrorism’ in Karachi, and they were all sought for targeted assassination and extortion. They were plotting terrorist actions in Karachi, but intelligence agencies acted quickly and disrupted their plans, arresting them.

17 terrorists were detained during a security operation, including the primary terrorist commander.

These terrorists were formed as seminar students from Afghanistan under the supervision of the TTP and were involved in sectarian, ethnic, and targeted killings of politicians, as well as attacks on law enforcement in Karachi.

Earlier, JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman met with the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, to discuss bilateral relations.

Rehman contacted Afghanistan’s deputy prime minister in Kabul.

Earlier, Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid told Samaa TV that they had invited Maulana Fazlur Rehman to visit the “Islamic Emirate,” and that the JUI-F president would be informed of the interim Afghan government’s stance on Pakistan.

The official also asserted that the interim Afghan government and people were not opposed to Pakistan. He went on to say that Kabul, as well as the Afghan people, will present their cases before the Maulana.

“We have never been against Pakistan and its people,” Zabihullah Mujahid stated. The visit occurred against the background of rising TTP assaults on Pakistani land.
