Gold Prices Recover After Monday’s Decline
The latest increase comes after gold prices fell sharply on Monday, October 12.
On Monday, the price of gold declined by Rs2,100 per tola to Rs439,936.
However, the market recovered on Tuesday, gaining Rs900 and bringing the price closer to the Rs441,000 mark.
The movement highlights continued fluctuations in Pakistan’s gold market, where prices have experienced several increases and decreases in recent weeks.
International Gold Prices Increase by $9
Gold prices also moved higher in the international market.
According to the report, the international price increased by $9 per ounce, reaching $4,183.
Changes in global bullion prices often influence domestic gold rates because Pakistan’s precious metals market is closely linked to international trading conditions.
Currency exchange rates, particularly the value of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar, can also affect local gold prices.
Silver Price in Pakistan Remains Unchanged
Unlike gold, silver prices remained stable on Tuesday.
The price of silver stood at Rs6,532 per tola, showing no change from the previous trading session.
Silver is commonly used in jewellery and other products, while some buyers also purchase it as an alternative precious metal investment.
Why Are Gold Prices Fluctuating in Pakistan?
Several factors influence the price of gold in Pakistan, including international bullion demand, exchange-rate movements, geopolitical developments and expectations about global interest rates.
Gold often attracts investor interest during periods of economic uncertainty, although its price can move in either direction.
Domestic market conditions and demand from jewellery buyers may also contribute to short-term price changes.
Gold Prices Have Seen Major Changes During 2026
Gold prices have experienced significant volatility throughout 2026.
According to historical figures published by Pakistan Observer, gold reached Rs616,790 per tola at one point in February before declining substantially in subsequent months.
Prices later recovered during August and continued to fluctuate through September and October.
The latest increase to Rs440,836 indicates a modest recovery following Monday’s decline, although prices remain well below the February peak reported by the publication.
What Should Gold Buyers Expect?
Gold buyers and investors should continue monitoring international bullion prices and currency movements, as both can affect rates in Pakistan.
Jewellery customers should also remember that the final retail price may include making charges and other costs beyond the quoted bullion rate.
With market prices changing frequently, consumers are advised to confirm the latest rate with a trusted local jeweller before making a purchase.
