KARACHI, September 27, 2026 — Veteran singers Humaira Channa and Ghulam Abbas drew an enthusiastic response from music fans during the second day of the three-day Pakistan Music Festival 2026 at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.
Held at Jaun Elia Lawn, the festival brought together established performers and emerging singers, offering audiences a mix of classical, folk, contemporary and other musical styles.
Humaira Channa Receives Warm Response
Humaira Channa was among the main attractions on the festival’s second day. The veteran singer performed several of her popular songs, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Channa has had a long career in Pakistani music, performing in Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki and Sindhi. According to The Express Tribune, she began singing at a young age and has recorded more than 1,000 songs during her career.
Ghulam Abbas Brings Playback Classics
Ghulam Abbas also received a strong response for his performance. His career in playback singing began in the 1970s, with his work later expanding to ghazals, semi-classical music and national songs for radio and television.
Abbas received classical training after being introduced to musician Ismail Khan, following early recognition from legendary singer Mehdi Hassan. His film-singing career included songs for several Pakistani productions.
Festival Features Established and Emerging Artists
The Pakistan Music Festival has brought together singers from different generations and musical backgrounds. The second day’s lineup included performers such as Salman Alvi, Imran Abbas Khan, Bindu Khan, Aziz Warsi, Uroosa Ali and several other artists.
The festival opened with a Grand Melodies Night, featuring veteran singers alongside emerging performers, including artists who gained recognition through the Pakistan Idol platform.

Pakistan Music Festival Continues in Karachi
Organised by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the three-day festival is designed to highlight Pakistan’s diverse musical traditions while providing opportunities for newer performers.
Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah said the event was intended to give young singers a platform to showcase their abilities and connect with live audiences.
The Pakistan Music Festival 2026 is scheduled to continue through September 27 at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.
