KARACHI: Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), voiced unhappiness with the facilities and instructed to conclude the upgrading plan of Karachi’s National Stadium as soon as possible.
Mohsin Naqvi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), visited the National Stadium in Karachi for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 final and voiced discontent with the facilities.
During his visit, PCB’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Salman Naseer, and the management of the National Cricket Stadium informed him on the stadium’s fan facilities.
Naqvi toured numerous enclosures and boxes and voiced his discontent with the stadium’s infrastructure.
Mohsin Naqvi urged the necessary authorities to finish the upgrading plan and to construct the best fields for international matches at the National Stadium Karachi as soon as possible.
Furthermore, he gave orders for the renovation and adornment of the stadium building and surrounding fence, with the goal of providing a more visually pleasing experience for fans, as well as requesting that the stadium be maintained with continual and particular attention.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi also visited with the stadium groundsmen and thanked them for their efforts in keeping the facility in good condition.
It is worth noting here that Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy in January 2025. As a result, initiatives to improve existing stadiums around the country are already underway to fulfill the needs of this famous event.
Meanwhile, PCB is preparing to hold a tri-nation cricket event next year.
Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the PCB, met with colleagues from the South African and New Zealand cricket boards in Dubai.
During these conversations, preparations were agreed for a three-nation cricket competition in Pakistan in February 2025.
The Tri-Series will feature matches between Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand.
It was decided that the South African and New Zealand teams would arrive in Pakistan at the end of January to compete in the competition.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi invited both sides to the next tour of Pakistan, highlighting the importance of international cricket returning to the country.
