Measles

over 12 youngsters in the community are still infected with measles, which has raised fears among residents.

The families of the dead children maintained that no health team had visited the region despite the deaths.

The Sindh Health Department, on the other hand, has announced that the anti-measles vaccination campaign will be taking place from May 20th to May 25th. Twenty-five people have died, over the last four months, including two toddlers in Dadu district who passed away earlier this month.

While verifying the fatalities, Civil Surgeon Dr. Amjad Mastoi stated that an anti-measles vaccination push is now ongoing across Dadu District. He stated that 397 youngsters afflicted with measles had been admitted to hospitals during the previous four months.Measles outbreak in Sindh claims lives of 70 children

Dr. Amjad Mastoi stated that measles has been detected in quite a bit of children in Tehsils Juhi, Khairour Nathan Shan, and Maher. The rising number of illnesses and fatalities in the region is perceived as a result of the Sindh health department’s perceived inaction.

Sindh’s health minister, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, previously stated that a special vaccination campaign is being conducted in districts with a high number of measles cases.

Azra Pechuho said in an interview that a vaccine push for typhoid vaccinations would return from May 13 to 25. “In Sindh, 8.9 million children of six months to 15 years’ age will be vaccinated for typhoid vaccination”.

The COVID-19 period caused health services to become overburdened and fall behind on routine immunizations for preventable illnesses, which is why measles rates have been rising in most locations.
