Karachi

KARACHI: On Saturday, an armed pair on a motorbike allegedly stole cash and cell phones from a fruit seller.

In his complaint, filed at Gulberg police station, the fruit vendor said that a man and a woman approached him in Karachi’s North Nazimabad district under the pretext of buying watermelons.

According to him, the pair first came to his kiosk and purchased watermelons costing Rs 680. They then offered him a Rs5,000 bill and requested for change, to which the fruit vendor accepted and returned the remaining cash.

However, the fruit vendor stated that the armed couple declined to purchase the produce, citing the increased price of the watermelons, and returned their money.

As soon as the other customers departed, the duo returned, brandished pistols, and stole Rs60,000 and two mobile phones from him, according to the street seller.
