Gulistan-e-Johar

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar dismissed Sharea Faisal Police Station’s station house officer (SHO) on Friday after a man in his late thirties was mercilessly shot dead while resisting an armed highway robbery in the city’s Johar Chowrangi district.

“Incidents like this are unforgivable,” Lanjar stated after learning of the unfortunate tragedy.

Rahber Ali, 38, was tragically killed late Thursday night after attempting to fight back during the mugging, causing the perpetrators to shoot fire on him.

However, outraged citizens nailed down the robbers and tortured them.

According to law enforcement officials, one of the thieves was injured and apprehended, while the other escaped the scene.

Street violence continues to bleed Karachi, with at least six innocent individuals killed during the holy month of Ramadan while confronting criminals.

Meanwhile, records show that 47 people have been killed in muggings in Karachi since the beginning of the year.

Further information reveals that six thieves were murdered in 75 police engagements, while 93 suspects were apprehended with injuries.

‘Life in Pakistan has become punishment.’

Akhtar Hussain, the dead Rahber Ali’s father, informed journalists that his son worked in online banking and food delivery.

“My son was a good human and used to take care of his younger brothers as if he were their father,” Hussain added, stressing that poverty is the root cause of many crimes.

He stated that they received a call during sehri informing them that their son’s body was at Jinnah Hospital, criticizing the lack of involvement of law enforcement officials.

“Living in Pakistan has become a punishment,” Hussain, 70, stated.

Meanwhile, Rahber’s kid told media that he was in fifth grade.

“My father used to say that we should follow our dreams,” he went on to explain.

He went on to say that his father was never harsh with him and that he loved him deeply.
